How It Got Started
I was born and grew up on the shores of Lake Leman, in Haute-Savoie. Then I studied Literature in Chambery, on the shores of Lake Bourget, where I obtained a Doctorate in Modern Literature, my specialization being medieval literature. At the end of my studies, I embarked with my two children on the great adventure of homeschooling –my first challenge in tailor-made teaching, which led us to be very often on the shores of Lake Annecy.

In early 2018, we arrived in Arizona, which is way less famous for its lakes than for its infinity of cacti. My children started school here, giving me a lot of free time, and I immediately chose to share my deep knowledge of French, French culture, and literature with you. Although I had taught my children for several years, and because I am convinced that being a native speaker is not enough to be a good teacher, it was compulsory for me to complete an intensive and rigorous training in French as a Foreign language. I obtained my Diploma of Aptitude for Teaching French as a Foreign Language (DAEFLE) and my certification as an examiner/corrector for the DELF/DALF exams in 2019, just before A Breath of French Air was born in March 2020.
